When it first landed in the ’90s, the Air Max 95 stood out with its anatomy-inspired design, layered construction, and flashes of neon that defined the era. Built as a technical running shoe, it quickly became an off-board icon—admired, collected, and always imagined on a skateboard. Years later, the Nike SB team took on the challenge of translating that unmistakable look into something skate-ready, while staying true to what made the original so influential.
Reworked for skateboarding, the Nike SB Air Max 95 swaps the original synthetics for durable suede and leather, materials better suited for grip and wear. The layered structure has been refined to reduce weight and increase flexibility, improving boardfeel without sacrificing support. To counter the shoe’s naturally higher profile, the insole was adjusted for closer contact, and a herringbone outsole was added for dependable traction. Finished with Nike SB branding on the heel, tongue, and TPU shank, the shoe arrives in a Black and Anthracite colorway with subtle accents and a grippy rubber sole built for the streets.
